Driver Retention Manager

Gulf Winds International, Inc. was founded in April 1996. The idea was to develop a full service, third party logistics company that would focus on warehousing, land transportation, distribution and consolidation. In 1997, the Houston Trucking division opens with 5 trucks and by 1998 Gulf Winds opened its 2nd warehouse facility. By 2012 Gulf Winds opened its 7th warehouse. Today Gulf Winds is operating with over 2.3 million square feet of warehouse space. By any measurement standard, Gulf Winds is a remarkable success story. In just a few years, the company has grown from only four employees with one account to over 500 employees including ILA and contract labor and thousands of accounts with several locations in Houston and Dallas.

The Driver Retention Manager will be the key in the investment of drivers and improving the driver journey through out the onboarding process. The Driver Retention Manager with work in building relationships with drivers to ensure reduction in driver turnover. The Driver Retention Manager will be the point of contact for driver issues or concerns and will follow up in a timely manner.  The Driver Retention manager will work closely with driver development team, operations and safety to ensure driver success. The successful candidate will manage driver surveys, feedback and in person meetings to improve overall Driver experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage retention driver metrics System to organize data, run analytics and present data feedback to Management
  • Responsible for continuous follow up to close the communication gap between Drivers and GWI teams.
  • Responsible in working with GWI departments to improve driver journey from date of contract to termination
  • Communication and organization of key trends to management and other departments.
  • Responsible for performing driver exit interviews

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Organizational skills are required for analytics and reporting
  • This candidate will champion the needs of drivers internally
  • Must be service oriented, influential and adaptable to change
  • Must possess an amiable personality with the communication & writing skills necessary to interface with internal customers daily.
  • Must be a self starter and willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret Gulf Winds International, Inc. policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma
  • Must have 2 – 4 Years of Experience Trucking Operations
  • Must be computer literate with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Musts have experience with on-boarding with drivers
  • Must be Bilingual
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
