Gulf Winds International, Inc. was founded in April 1996. The idea was to develop a full service, third party logistics company that would focus on warehousing, land transportation, distribution and consolidation. In 1997, the Houston Trucking division opens with 5 trucks and by 1998 Gulf Winds opened its 2nd warehouse facility. By 2012 Gulf Winds opened its 7th warehouse. Today Gulf Winds is operating with over 2.3 million square feet of warehouse space. By any measurement standard, Gulf Winds is a remarkable success story. In just a few years, the company has grown from only four employees with one account to over 500 employees including ILA and contract labor and thousands of accounts with several locations in Houston and Dallas.

Purpose of Position

The Talent Acquisition Partner will be responsible for the full life-cycle of Recruiting: sourcing, screening, interviewing and assisting with placement. The Talent Acquisition Partner will also be responsible for managing the complete on-boarding cycle, pipeline of quality candidates for all key and critical roles, communicating the use of Predictive Index in screening, collaborating with Management on Succession Planning and coordinating with Management regarding individual development plans for the growth and development of our employees. This position will also be responsible for developing relationships with external entities such as Universities, Community Colleges, industry related organizations to identify quality candidates for Gulf Wind International open positions.  

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • The Talent Acquisition partner will be responsible for Full Life-cycle of Recruiting
  • Manage all aspects of the complete on-boarding cycle
  • Responsible for creating a pipeline of quality candidates for key/critical positions
  • Communicate / train effective use of the Predictive Index in the screening process
  • Collaborate with Management on all aspects of Succession Planning
  • Define and track recruiting metrics to determine effectiveness

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must possess strong communication & writing skills necessary to interface with internal and external customers, as well as different departments, and varying levels of management daily.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work with minimal supervision and execute tasks and duties at a high level.
  • The candidate must have excellent organizational skills.
  • The candidate must be able to develop and maintain strong rapport with internal and external customers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 Years of direct experience in all aspects of Talent Acquisition
  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 Years of managing the full life-cycle of recruiting
  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 Years of managing all aspects of the On-Boarding Cycle
  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 Years of building a pipeline of quality candidates for key and critical positions
  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 Years of collaborating with Managers on Succession Planning
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
