Purpose of Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician leads the general upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of all Gulf Winds facilities, respective parking lots and grounds. The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining operational and working equipment in clean, orderly and functional condition. The candidate will respond to operational situations, such as minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC or vandalism. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for Facilities projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares a systematic approach to the cleaning, repair and maintenance of the building, grounds and equipment and takes action as needed
  • Performs minor carpentry, painting and plumbing maintenance work as needed
  • Performs minor electrical work, replacing inoperative lighting, fixtures, etc…
  • Reports work accomplished orally or written work order to Facilities Manager
  • Light assembly of other equipment if directed by management.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Organizational skills are required to setup and maintain a small production facility.
  • Must possess an amiable personality with the communication & writing skills necessary to interface with internal customers on a daily basis.
  • Must be a self starter and willing to work outdoors, in local environment and with minimal supervision
  • The candidate must be able to interpret Gulf Winds International, Inc. policies and procedures
  • General knowledge of maintenance with basic understanding of conventional tools, yard equipment and painting procedures.
  • The candidate must follow direction from the Facility Maintenance and Purchasing Manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED
  • Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools, painting equipment and yard tools
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
